Howard
Dean's son arrested again with links to Iraqi WMD program
Metro World News -07/11/03
WASHINGTON -- Early this morning, Paul
Dean, son of Democratic Presidential candidate Howard
Dean, was arrested and booked by the FBI on suspicion
of robbery, evidence tampering, obstruction of justice,
terrorism and a variety of other potentially serious
charges.
This latest incident marks the second
time in less than a month 17-year-old Paul has found
himself on the wrong side of the law. Due to the seriousness
of the most recent incident however, Dean could be facing
an extensive prison sentence and even possibly time
at Guantanamo Bay.
The arrest stems from an investigation
into the discovery of Iraq’s elusive WMD program.
Dean has often boasted about his involvement in their
disappearance and apparently the rumors were true.
“If Paul is responsible for stealing
Iraq’s weapon’s of mass destruction, he
should pay the ultimate price,” said Presidential
hopeful and father, Howard Dean.
Dean, former governor of Vermont, said
he had canceled a campaign appearance scheduled for
this weekend so he could return home to deal with the
growing problem of his family’s criminal behavior.
"Paul’s sister, his mother
and I have all struggled with the urge to steal. However,
this is by far the most serious charge any of us have
ever had to face," he said.
"I understand that this matter
is being handled by the FBI and I hope the press and
the public will overlook this incident as I seek my
party’s nomination for president."
Officials at the justice department
were not immediately available for comment.
